Dresway Poetry

So much wisdom in life. So much life in the past.
So much in today, so much that today we can not see.
What's up there beyond the sky. Isn't that the final question.
The real question. Do we really want to or do we want to get
to the final answer. A change gon come. Yesterday held a lot
of answers, but not all.

sometimes i try to make things right.
sometimes i don't know how.
sometimes i make things wrong.

when i look out into this world, i think about the many
different lives that we all live. i think about all of the ways
of the world.

i see a young colored man, bruised from the welts of him and his fathers.

when i look into your eyes, i see the blood stained tears that you
cried that night when they took your chiild away and made him into
another pawn to fit into their game.

when i look into his eyes, i realize that he never cared about the life
of our mothers, that he never cared about the life of our children,
that he only wanted us to help him win the game.

sometimes i try to make things right.
i try to find ways to make that DREAM come true.

sometimes i don't know how.
i thought that this DREAM i could achieve through only the power
of my people.
later i thought that i could achieve this DREAM by forgiveness
and by shaking hands with this man of the game.

sometimes i make things wrong.
in time i have brought his drug into my home.
i have killed my own brothers.
i have sold my own sisters.
i have damaged the future of my child.

sometimes i try to make things right.
sometimes i don't know how.
sometimes i make things wrong.
i now realize that sometimes i help him win.
